EFFECT OF SEVERAL TRIFLURALIN RATES ON SEED GERMINATION AND PRODUTION CAPACITY OF PEANUTS
RUBENS SADER, NELSON M. CARVALHO, MARGARETE CAMARGO
The present research was carried out under field conditions in an
experimental área of "Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias" Campus de
Jaboticabal (SP) in a soil unit classifiel as a Dark Red Latossol - Sandy Phase. The
purpose of the experiment was to test several rates of the herbicide Trifluralin. (Treflan) at
0, 1,2, 1,6, 2,0, 2,4 and 2,8 liters per hectare and to verify its effect in the weed control,
seed production and peanut seed germination capacity being used as experimental design
the randomized blocks consisting of six treatments and four replications. The results have
shown thal in rates used in a general way the herbicide controlled annual grasses and
some dicotyledonous; however, did not control others such as: bristly (Acanthospermum
hyspidum, DC.), hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa L.) and prickly sida (Sida sp.). Although
no significative results were observed between the control and the treatments in relation to
the number of pods, weight of 100 pods, seed weight/100 pods, number of seeds/100
pods an also in the seed production and peanut seed germination capacity in a general
way the treated ones in average were superior to the control. No phytotoxicity symptoms
