Different wheat cultivars were tested under laboratory conditions at the Centro Nacional de Pesquisa de Trigo (CNPT), in 1978, to evaluate the sprouting degree. Samples came from some material cultivated in Londrina, Paraná State, and the great majority from Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul State. Foreign cultivars mentioned in the literature as a source of resistance were also included in this study. The material proceeding from Paraná State showed high percentage of sprouting as in the past years. Under cultivated conditions of Passo Fundo, some cultivars presented considerably low values, including some introduced sources of resistance.
