A study was carried out to determine the period needed for the germinatíon test of malva (Urena lobata L.) seed. Two treatments were compared: a sole countíng at 3, 4, 5 and 6 days and two couting times of the normal seedlings, according to the following combinations: 3 and 4, 3 and 5, 3and h. 4 and 5, 4 and 6, and 5 and 6 days after seedling date. One counting of the normal seedlings on the 4th, 5th or 6th days, or two countings on the 3rd and 4th, 3rd and 5th, 3rd and 6th, 4th and 5th, 4th and 6th, and 5th and 6th days were equally efficient in allowing the evaluation of the germination ability of Urena lobata L. seed.
