Few research work was carried out on Seed Pathology of forests in Brazil. Survey of seed-borne fungi of imported seeds of Pinus spp was made in Instituto Biológico, SP, as well as of Pinus elliottii produced in State of S. Paulo. ln Instituto Florestal, SP, research work was conducted to investigate the effect of fungicides on germination of Pinus elliotti and Pinus taeda seeds. Research on seed treatment of forests in general made in Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, SP, is reported in literature. There is no information about routine laboratory for seed health tests of forests up to now in Brazil.
