EVOLUTION OF BRAZILIAN SEED PATHOLOGV PROGRAM (PBPS)

This study deal with the importance of an inteapated seed pathology program which aim to get more development in this topic area. This program in a cooperative way is Iinked to the Inter American Seed Pathology Program. The three mains goals of the program here in discused include the following, research in this topic area, personnel training and diffusion of technology. The findings of this study show that in terms of research, around 93 plans were developed by means of 31 research units distributed in 14 states and 137 researchers were involved. Regarding personnel training 3 short courses were provided with 60 participants and as for diffusion of technology one bibliografy of seed pathology was published, with more than 416 citations. In order to about the PBPS and Ad hoc Committee on Seed Pathology (COPASEM) was created by the Brazilian Association for Seed Techonology (ABRATES).
