HOMERO B.S. VEIGA PESSOA, SILVIO MOURE CICERO, AUSTRELINO SILVEIRA FILHO
The two brazilian rice cultivars IAC-l65 and BR-IRGA 409 were seeded in pots and cultivated in the interior of a screen-house under the climatic conditions of Goiânia, State of Goiás, Brazil. The herbicides bentazon, 2,4-D, propanil, butachlor, oxadiazon, thiobencarb and pendimethalin were applied to the plants, on the recommended rates and dates to evaluate their effects on the rice seed physiological quality. None of the herbicides tested in this work adversely affected the rice cultivars IAC-165 and BR-IRGA 409 seed physiological quality, as to germination percentage and vigor.
