EFFICIENCY OF CHEMICAL TREATMENT OF SOYBEAN SEEDS ON THE CONTROL OF Colletotrichum dematium VAR. Truncata

AUGUSTO CÉSAR PEREIRA GOULART

The objective of this research was to evaluate the efficiency of some fungicides, applied as seed dressing, on the control of Colletotrichum dematium var. truncata. ln lab (blotter) and field tests, soybean seeds, cv. IAC-8, with 9,0% of natural contamination with the pathogen were utilized. All fungicides reduced the seed-borne fungi. The treatments that gave the lowest percentage of seeding infection by C. dematium var. truncata were tolyfluanid (50 and 75g a.i./100kg of seeds), benomyl (50g a.i./100kg of seeds), and pencycuron + tolyfluanid (30 + 75g a.i./100kg of seeds), in order. All treatments increased the stand significantiy, when compared to the untreated control. However, no significant yield differences were observed among the treatments.
