EFEITOS DE ADUBAÇÃO NITROGENADA SOBRE A GERMINAÇÃO DE SEMENTES DE CAPIM RAMIREZ
NILZA R. MECELIS, ELIANA A. SCHAMMASS E LÍGIA M.G.S. DIAS
Germination of Ramirez-grass seeds produced at three nitrogen rates. The objetctive of this work was to compare germination conditions for ramirez grass (Paspalum guenoarum Arech. var. guenoarum) seeds, and to evaluate a possible influence of field nitrogen rates on that
germination. Seeds originated from a sward fertilized with 0, 75 and 150kg N.ha-1 were placed to germinate over paper previously wetted or not potassium nitrate 0.2%. The temperatura compared were: constant 25oC and alternating temperatures of 15-35, 20-35 and 20-30°C, plus light. The treatments studies were arranged in a completely randomized factorial design 3 x 4 x 2 (N fertilization x temperatura x KNO3), with eight replications, KNO3 application an their simple interactions were statiscally significant (P<0.01). The highest germination porcentages occurred at 20-35°C in all the fertilization levels. The nitrogen effect upon germination varied for each temperature tested. At 20-35°C it decreased linearly as the fertilizar increased. Potassium nitrate increased germination in all treatments; however, it was observed a decreasing germination for seeds produced from the highest N level at 20-35°C.
