An attempt was made to asses the influence of origin and size on the germination of seed of Peruvian carrot. Different sizes of seeds were submitted to a germination test in a sand-filled gerboxes placed in a germinator at 20°C. Seeds from commercial plantings and seeds from plants exposed to low temperature presented similar germination. The medium size and large seeds showed higher germination on percentage and more vigor than the small seeds.
