The jaborandi (Pilocarpus microphyllus Stapf.) is a plant of Rutaceae family which occurs at the Brazilian pre-amazon forest. lt is one of the most important brazilian medicinal plants, and it is considered an endangered species. In order to preserve and use the genetic variability of this species, the CENARGEN/EMBRAPA has iniciated in 1991 studies on seed germplasm conservation. The results showed that the seeds can be dried to 6-8% moisture content and stored at sub-zero temperature without loosing viability
