- Sesame seeds produced by plants developed under soil with different salinity levels were analised in order to determine the physiological and sanitary qualities. There was no significant difference among the cultivars, but there was in relation to salinity levels in the analysis of the weight of 1000 seeds. There were statistic significative differences among sesame cultivars and among salinity levels with relation to seed germination, field emergency, I.V.E.C. and weight of fresh and dry matter. The presence of the pathogenic fungi Alternaria sesamicola, Cercospora sesami and Fusarium spp. on seeds permitted to detect differences among cuitivars but not among salinity levels.
