THE INFLUENCE OF SUBSTRATE, TEMPERATURE, MOISTURE AND STORAGE ON THE GERMINATION OF Platycyamus regnelli (BENTH) SEEDS
SILVANA DE PAULA QUINTÃO SCALON, AMAURI ALVES DE ALVARENGA E ANTÔNIO CLAUDIO DAVIDE
It was studied the germination capacity under laboratory conditions of Platycyamus regnelli Benth. seeds, stored for one month and for six months. Germination capaclty was studied at 30°C, 25°C, and 20-30°C, substrata moisture of 2 and 3 times the substrate weight and the substrata rolling paper and between paper. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design in a 3 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme with five replications and fifteen seeds per plot. Concerning percent germination and the velocity index constant temperatures of 25°C and 30°C were the best treatments for germination of seeds stored for one month. But temperalure had no effect seeds stored for six months. Moisture of two times the substrata weight was favorable for six-rnonths-old seeds but did not affect one-month-old seeds. The best substrata for one-month-old seeds was the rolling paper and for six-months-old seeds was the between paper.
