METHOD FOR GRASS PEA (Lathyrus sativus L.) SEEDS GERMINATION TEST

The increase of the green manure crops in Paraná state has grown the demand for grass pea seeds (Lathyrus sativus L.). There is not in the Brazilian Rules for Testing Seeds specifics procedures for grass pea seed analysis. The objective of this study is to determine the temperature and number of days for the first and final count for laboratory germination evaluation of grass pea seeds. The results showed that temperature of the 20 or 25°C and 4 days for first count and 8 days for the final count seems to be adequate for testing peas seed in the laboratory condition.
