EFFECT OF SUB STRATE AND TEMPERATURE ON GERMINATION AND VIGOUR OF CEDRO SEEDS - Cedrela odorata L. (MELIACEAE)
ANTÔNIO CARLOS SILVA DE ANDRADE E TÂNIA SAMPAIO PEREIRA
This study aimed to define best temperature and substrate for germination of Cedrela odorata L. - ?Cedro?. The statistical design was completely randomized, arranged in a fatorial system 3 x 3, with 25 seeds sowed in 4 replications where the following parameters were analized: total and normal germination (%), first counting of normal seedlings and speed germination index (IEV.). The best results were obtained for temperatures of 25 and 30°C for the first counting and IEV. parameters. Significative differences between treatments were found for total germination analysis showed no significative differences between substrate and temperature treatments. Post-seminal development morphological study allowed the establishment of the normal and abnormal seedlings.
