After harvesting and depulping of the fruits, Açaí seeds were placed in shade during one week. Following, seeds were kept in plastic bag for 15 days. Before the storage treatments, seeds presented 79% of germination and 33,3% of moisture content. The seed samples were stored in clothes and plastic bags, in lab conditions and cold chamber (3-4oC and 80-85% RH). Germination and moisture content were determined 2, 4 and 6 months after storage period. In all treatments, except seeds stores in plastic bag under lab condition, no germination of the seeds occurred. Seed stored in plastic bag in the lab condition presented 28, 14 and 8 germination percent, respectively, at periods of 2, 4 and 6 months. Where as the environment, plastic bag kept the initial moisture content of the seeds, while in the clothes bag seeds presented moisture content around 20% at 2 months period. Results suggest a recalcitrant behaviour of Açaí seeds.
