TÂNIA SAMPAIO PEREIRA E ANTONIO CARLOS SILVA DE ANDRADE

The effects of temperature and substrate on the germination of Psidium guajava L. and Passiflora edulis Sims, were studied. Post-seminal development test are described. For Psidium guajava L., alternate temperature ranging from 20 to 30°C or 15 to 35°C, and a substrate consisting of vermiculite, filter paper or towel paper, showed the most positive results, favouring intermediate and final counting at 20 and 46 days respectively. For Passifiora edulis Sims seeds, a temperature ranging from 20-30°C and a substrate of either vermiculite or towel paper, were the most favourable combinations. Normal seedling could se counted at 15 and 22 days.
