The experiment was conducted in the Crop Science Department of the Federal University of Santa Maria, RS, at 1991, to determine the germination and vigour of corn seeds treated with zinc and boron sources and evaluate the viability of the use of these sources. The experiment was a 5x3 factorial, with a completely randomized design, with four replications. The zinc sources were (without, ZnSO4, Zn-Biocrop, Zn-Triol and Zn-Diol), in the dose 2.50g Zn/kg of seeds, and the boron sources were (without, B-Biocrop and Organic-B), in the dose 0.15g/kg of seeds. The results indicate that treatment of com seeds shortly before sowing is feasible with ZnSO4, Zn-Biocrop, Zn-Triol and B-Biocrop sources and the combinations of ZnSO4 + B-Biocrop and Zn-Biocrop + B-Biocrop because these treatments d?not affect seed germination and vigour.
