Seeds of Commiphora leptophloeos were immersed in 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10% sodium hypochlorite solutions for 10, 15 and 20 minutes. Seed germination and health tests were conducted before (control) and after treatment. Twenty genera of fungi were detected in the control, Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus arrhizus presenting the higher incidence level. The best treatment was the 3% solution of sodium hypochlorite for 10 minutes.
