The effect of metribuzin rates (0,0; 0,3; 0,6 and 0,9kg a.i.h-1) was studied on soybean seeds
quality. The metribuzin herbicide is an inhibitor of photosynthesis, affecting the eletrons transport chain, the integrity
of membranes and destruction of chlorophylls and carotenoides germination and vigour of seeds were determined
through the total activity of phosphatase acid, eletrical condutivity, emergence rate index, emergence under
greenhouse conditions, dry weights and lengths of the shoot and roots of the seedlings. The quality of the seeds was
negatively affected by increasing of metribuzin rates when the herbicide was applied in pre-emergence, indicating
the presence of the metribuzin into the soybean seeds
