EFFECTS OF PRE TREATMENT AND DEEPTH SOWING ON THE GERMINATION OF Pterogyne nitens Tul. (AMENDOIM-DO-CAMPO) SEEDS
SORAIA MARCO LONGO NASSIF E SÔNIA CRISTINA JULIANO GUALTIERI DE ANDRADE PEREZ
Pterogyne nitens is called amendoim-do-campo, and it is a woody species uncommum in cerrado
vegetation. The aim of this work was to determine the influence of differents pre treatments to overcome the
dormancy and the deepth of sowing of intact or scarified seeds on the rate and percent of germination. The
experiments were carried out with four simultaneous replicates of 50 seeds and the date were submited to variance
analysis and Tuckey?s test. For seeds with a hard coat the most effective pre treatment to break the dormancy was
a coat punction, recording germinability of 92% and rate of 0,38 dias-1 . In the field, the deepth of 2cm promoved
the highest values of germinability and the rate, for the scarified and intact seeds. At the deepth of 5cm was
observed the highest values of germinability and rate of germination for the scarified seeds and only at deepth of
10cm scarified ones emerged.
