The objetive this work was to avaluate the performance of corn seeds, that were treated
with fungicides before and after the conventional storage period. Three seeds lots of corn of double
hibrid AG 1051, harvested at differents fields of production the Agroceres S/A company in Patos de
Minas - MG were used. After the processing operation samples of seeds classification sieve 24, one part
treated with Captan 50 (0,32%) e Tiabendazol (Tecto 600 - 0,05%) and with inseticides Deltametrine
(0,004%) and Pirimiphos metil (0,006%), and another part treated only with this insecticide. The seeds
were placed in multilayer paper bags, and stored in conventional conditions. After six and twelve
months of storage, part of the seeds that weren?t treated with fungicides, received the same fungicide
treatments used in the begin of the storage. Seed quality was evaluated by standard germination test,
artificial aging, cold test and health test. The results showed that seed vigour was not affected by the
seed treatment applied before and after the storage, indicating that storage conditions in this work were
not probably favorable to fungal damaging. It was also seen that seed treatment was effective in the
control of the fungi associated to seeds.
