ASSOCIATED FUNGI IN Coriandrum sativum L. SEEDS PRODUCED IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL STATE, BRAZIL IN 1994/95 AND 1995/96

Eighteen seed samples of Coriandrum sativum L., cv. Português, from five counties (Bagé, Hulha
Negra, Pinheiro Machado, Candiota and Herval do Sul) wich compound Bagé?s Geo-economic Region, were
analysed using the blotter test to determine seed-borne fungi incidence on coriander seeds produced in 1994/95
(eight samples) and 1995/96 (ten samples) in Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. Twelve fungi genera were detected
in both years. The most frequent seed-borne fungi founded in all samples were: Alternaria alternata and the
genus Aspergillus, Fusarium and Penicillium.
