(Malpighiaceae) were described and illustrated, emphasizing the fruit coat, seed coat and development.
The fruits are schizocarpic. The seeds are pyriform, anatropous, bitegmic, exarillate, exalbuminous, and
the folded, axial embryo, with mucilaginous cotyledons.
