COMPARISON BETWEEN CONVECTION GRAVITACIONAL AND MECANIC - AIR FORCED OVEN TYPES ON THE EFFICACY OF SEED MOISTURE CONTENT DETERMINATION

This work has the objective of comparing the convection gravitacional and mecanic - air
forced oven types on the efficacy of seed moisture content determination. It was developed and
automatic system for colecting the data by microcomputer, that was monitored by several temperature
sensors distributed equaly among the shelves of the equipment. It was also observed the behavior
of the ovens heating, with and without seeds during the period stablished for determining seed
moisture content. For determining seed moisture content it was used the maximum capacity of the
equipment, identifying the position of each recipient. The oven type mecanic with forced air is the best
indication for determining seed moisture content. It is necessary an evaluation of the position of
electrical resistance to know if those could contribute for an uniform distribution of the temperature,
inside the oven.
