This research was developed at the Experimental Farm of Faculdade de Engenharia -
Campus de Ilha Solteira - UNESP, located in the Selvíria (MS), county Brazil, with the objetive to verify
the influence of two rows spaced 0,45 and 0,60m apart in the first year (1995) and three rows spaced 0,30;
0,45 and 0,60m apart in the second year (1996) and two periods of sowing (first may fortnight and first
july fortnihgt) in the behavior of differents beans cultivars: Mineiro Precoce, Carioca, IAC Carioca,
Carioca Mineiro, IAC Carioca Pyatã, IAC Bico de Ouro, Ouro, IAPAR 14, IAPAR 16, IAPAR 31, IAPAR
57, IAPAR 65, IAPAR 72 and ISA 1. The experimental desing used was the randomized blocks with four
replications. Each experimental plot was constituted by five rows with five meters long. The culture was
conduted under system conventional irrigation. During the condution of the experiments the following
evaluations were realized: number of pod per plant, number of seeds per pod, weight of thousand seeds
and seed yield. The results obtained allowed to conclude at sowing first may showed more adjusted for
the seed yield, in the midst of cultivars saliented how much the produtivity, Ouro, IAPAR 31, IAC
Carioca and IAPAR 57, the spaced the rows spaced that will be used most be in function of growth
behavior of the cultivar.
