NICOLE MARIA MARSON DONADIO E MARIA ESMERALDA SOARES PAYÃO DEMATTÊ
The present study provides information on the morphology of fruits, seeds and seedlings of the species Peltophorum dubium and Dalbergia nigra, native arboreal species from Brazil, that present socioeconomic and ecological interest. For the evaluation of the fruits and of the seeds, external and internal characteristics were observed, taking place illustrations with aid of clear camera. For the fruits, they were observed: fruit type, pericarp consistence, ability of the fruits for liberation or not of its seeds, dimensions, coloration and the number of seeds per fruit. In relation to the seeds, they were observed: the length, largest width, shape, coloration, texture, type of the seed, shape and position of the embryo, of the cotilédones and of the hypocotyl-radicle axis. For description of the seedlings, the seeds were placed to germinate in paper roll, at 25ºC. The germination stages were characterized in daily observations, being analyzed: aerial part height, number and shape of leaflets, hypocotyl length and epicotyl length. Descriptions and illustrations of the seedlings were made.
