INDENT CYLINDER SEPARATOR FOR BARLEY SEEDS
FABRÍCIO SCHWANZ DA SILVA, FRANCISCO AMARAL VILLELA E MARIA ÂNGELA ANDRÉ TILLMANN
The present work was undertaken at Pelotas in Rio Grande do Sul State from january to august 1999, with the objective to evaluate the indent cylinder separator for barley seeds. It was used a barley seed lot cv. BR-2 conditioned through a indent cylinder separator using three inclination of the trough and two rotation of the cylinder. The evaluations were: production/h, discard rate, hectoliter weight, 1000 seeds weight, lenght, widh, thickness, specific gravity, germination, first count of the germination test, accelerated aging and emergence. The data were analised using a factorial arrangement. The results allowed the fallowing conclusions: the indent cylinder separator does not presents precision to separate barley seeds and improves the appearance of the seed lot; discard rate decreases accordable increaseas the inclination of the trough of indent cylinder separator; seed length does not influence physiological quality of the barley seeds lot.
