The objective of this work was to verify the efficiency of gravity table to separate the seeds of common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) according to their physical characteristics. After the cleaning procedure, a lot of seeds was passed through the gravity table action, with the discharge adjusted as to separete in four fractions: upper discharge (DS), upper intermediate (DIS), lower intermediate (DII) and lower discharge (DI). The fractions DS, DIS and DII submited separatedly to the action of the gravity table to provide the completion of the treatments assigned. After sampling, the seeds were analyzed for physical quality (purity, 1000 seed weight and hectolitric weight), density, degree of and percentage of hard seeds. It was noted that the gravity table was efficient in the separation of seeds according to the volumetric weight and the seed density. Based on the results obtained it is recommended the utilization of gravity table in the common vetch seeds processing to perfect physical quality lots.
