This work was carried out at the Seed Analysis Laboratory at the Plant Production Department of the São Paulo State University (UNESP), Botucatu-SP, aiming to evaluate the efficiency of the flooding test as a vigor test, in three different seed lots. Seeds were subjected to the flooding test by submerging in flooding solution (distilled water, antibiotic and fungicide) at 25oC, for three days. After that, final germination, radicle emission, first germination count and electrolytic leakage of flooded seeds were evaluated. These parameters were correlated with germination test, first germination count, radicle emission, electrolytic leakage, cold test, weight of 100 seeds, field emergency, emergency speed index, seedlings dry and fresh matter. Results showed the flooding test parametres significantly correlated with germination test, electrolytic leakage, cold test and emergency speed index.
