An exploratory analysis was carried out to verify the use of symetrical and asymetrical
distribution as an alternative for describing results of the percentage of seed germination from
data sets of (Callistephus chinensis (L.) Nees), Cecropia pachystachya Trec. and Brachiaria
brizantha (Hochst.ex A.Rich) Stapf, under different termal conditions and Daucus carota L. seed
samples under different hidro conditions. Each data set was fit to the distribution Normal, Lognormal,
Gumbel, Weibull and the Beta. The highest numerical value of loglikelihood test was achieved
with the fit of the Beta distribution. The worst goodness-of-fit was achieved with the Lognormal
distribution.
