EVALUATIONS OF FUNGICIDE APPLICATION AND OSMOCONDITIONING DURING STORAGE OF TOMATO SEEDS
CLAUDIA ANTONIA VIEIRA ROSSETTO, TATIANA MORAES LIMA E JOÃO NAKAGAWA
The work was carried out with the purpose of evaluate the effects of the fungicide
application and the osmoconditioning during storage of tomato seeds of cv. Topmec. The used
experimental design was the completely randomized as a factorial 4x5x2 (treatment x storage
period x lot), with four repetitions. The seeds were classified by diameter of 2.00mm and, half the
sample was submitted to treatment with fungicidal thiran (Rhodiauran 70%) in the dose of
3.0g.kg-1 and the other half the sample wasn?t treated. Samples were or weren?t submitted to
osmotic conditioning using solutions of polyethylene glycol 6000 (-1.0MPa), supplied with air, at
20oC, during seven days. After the conditioning, the seeds were submitted to drying for 24 hours
in atmosphere conditions without control (temperature and relative humidity). The seeds were
packed in plastic pots and stored in cold camera, during 120 days, were evaluated soon after the
drying and in intervals of 30 days. The conditions imposed by the conditioning didin?t contributed
to the microorganism proliferation and decrease of the germination; the seeds submitted to the
conditioning and fungicide showed highest storage potential.
