The research carried in FEIS - UNESP, Ilha solteira, Selvíria-MS, had the purpose
to avaluate the productivity and physiological seed quality of upland rice, cultivar Caiapó, as
affected by availability water. The experiment consisted of five water levels, one of which was
constituted by natural rain and the others by water supplied by sprinkle irrigation, based on crop
coefficient (Kc) for upland rice that resulted in water level L2. Water level L1, L3 and L4 were
them defined as 0.5 Kc, 1.5 Kc and 1.95 Kc respectively. Were avaliate the productivity, 1000
seeds weigth and physiological seed quality (germination and vigour). The productivity seeds was
smaller im sistem withouth irrigation. The water level L2 had larger productivity seeds. The 1000
seeds weigth wasn?t affected by availability water. The physiological seed quality was larger for
the treatments with irrigation, to the water levels L1 and L2.
